Kids Korner

This week I decided to follow up with the kids about the earthquake that occurred a couple weeks ago. Everyone was given the opportunity to share their experience of the 4.7 magnitude quake. At Jr OSC we make it a priority to run at least one earthquake/fire drill a month, the kids stop what they are doing, line up and wait for leader instruction. During this process the kids are aware there is no time for grabbing coats, bags or favourite toys, which led me to ask the following question:

If you could save 1 thing in an earthquake what would it be?

James- "my leggo"

Jonah- "hand hockey"

George- "pokemon cards, actually beyblades"

Emily- "my TV and my teddy bear"

Lucy- "I don't know"

Savannah- "myself"

Zi Shen- "leggo"

Lukas H- "I'll save the ground from shaking, then nothing will fall"

We hope that everyone was safe that night and for anyone interested I have attached a link below with some helpful tips for what to do before, during and after an earthquake.
